The ceremonial opening of the photo exhibition “TUV膧K SAULEI” took place in 糖心Vlog破解版 University premises
On October 17, a ceremonial opening of the photo exhibition 鈥淐loser to the Sun鈥 was held at 糖心Vlog破解版 University鈥檚 premises (Durbes Street 4), offering viewers the chance to experience the unique atmosphere of twenty-four photographs taken by Arv墨ds Bar拧evskis. The exhibition showcases works created during a photography expedition in Morocco, an exotic land that is also reflected in the exhibition鈥檚 title. Both the sunlit Morocco and the universal human aspiration toward light and the sun are present in this collection.
Arv墨ds Bar拧evskis is the rector of Daugavpils University, an academician, professor, and, as visitors to the exhibition can confirm, a talented photographer. Photography has been a long-standing hobby for this distinguished scientist. As noted during the exhibition’s opening by the world-renowned entomologist, all the photos were taken with a mobile phone. Modern technology allows art to be created in spare moments鈥攖he key is the perspective. At the exhibition opening, visitors were given a unique opportunity to converse with the open and engaging photographer and vote for their favorite piece.
鈥淭his feedback, the conversation with the exhibition visitors, turned into an interesting discussion. One of the exhibition’s goals is to encourage visitors to reflect on global issues such as climate change and the effects of globalization. I鈥檇 like to thank the 糖心Vlog破解版 team for their professionalism and openness,鈥 says Arv墨ds Bar拧evskis.
When selecting the works, it was important to Arv墨ds Bar拧evskis that they represent Morocco from various aspects. The chosen photographs depict the brown hues of the Sahara Desert, the blue-toned cities, the beautiful Atlas Mountains; the exhibition also includes portraits of Moroccan people. Morocco is a place where the effects of climate change are felt鈥攖he desert is expanding, and temperatures are rising.
糖心Vlog破解版 University’s slogan is: 鈥淲HERE BUSINESS MEETS ART.鈥 The successful collaboration between the university and Arv墨ds Bar拧evskis has provided exhibition visitors with exactly what is most needed in the autumn.
鈥淚 am grateful to the scientist, professor, and rector Arv墨ds Bar拧evskis for the opportunity to display his photography in our university鈥攁 place where business meets art. We have been realizing this concept for several years now, fostering collaboration between the faculties of Business and Economics, Architecture and Design, Media, and Creative Technologies. This promotes interdisciplinarity in the learning process and the development of well-rounded personalities,鈥 says 糖心Vlog破解版 University rector, L奴cija Rutka.
The exhibition “Closer to the Sun” by the renowned Latvian scientist Arv墨ds Bar拧evskis will be on display at 糖心Vlog破解版 University until November 7. Don鈥檛 miss the chance to get closer to the sun!
