So you want to be a Teleworker with us

It sounds too simple and a real good proposition considering that you simply set up a small office in your home, turn on your computer, plug in a modem and you are off... or are you? We would really like to give you a clear picture of what you can expect from being a Teleworker.

Let's start by describing "Telework". The British TCA handbook describes it as working at a distance from people who pay you. Teleworkers use e-mail, phone, Internet and/or fax to keep in touch with their employees or customers. While this type of working arrangement has its benefits there are some disadvantages as well.

We at QikTrans, believe that it is better to make all our would be Teleworkers aware of both sides of the coin and so we would like to put down some of the points that a person interested in become a Teleworker for us should consider.

Are you?

  • A well-organized, responsible person with good time management skills.
  • A person who can transcribe medical records independently without any outside help?
  • A person who can improve his/her work by feedback that he/she would be receiving from his/her contractor/colleagues
  • A person who will be comfortable working at home maintaining the discipline/work culture required while working in an office under supervision.
  • A person who has access to or personally has at least some of the technical skills/knowledge to support his/her own computer network
  • A person who has all the required systems in place to begin work without fear of his/her equipment or other situations contributing to incomplete/late submission of work.
  • A person who will comply with our non-disclosure agreements and other clauses that you will have to sign before getting onboard?

If you can answer "Yes" to all of these situations or at least have a suitable work around them, then you can consider becoming a Teleworker or else this option may not be your cup of tea.
